I want to replace the granite kitchen countertops in my kitchen. Are there any salvagers that buy use granite countertops?

Granite Countertops?

We are looking at granite countertops and have had a couple people tell us that we should steer away from black or dark colored granite because water marks and smears are more prevalent than on lighter colors. Is this true? Any other recomendations? Thanks!
