where should I go to have remodeling done on my kitchen?

I am planning to upgrade my kitchen flooring , countertop and sink/faucet. Should I go to one of the home stores like Lowe’s or Home Depot, or should I go to a Kitchen and Bath Design Center? Which of these will cost more? Which one will do a better job of coordinating the work so that my kitchen will not be out of commission for an extended amount of time?

Find an experienced Custom Builder they’ll get the job done and they got the hookup to anyone who you’ll need: painter, plumber, supplier.

I worked for a large kitchen company and they were very expensive - go to your big DIY store the quality is just as good and prices are a lot cheaper.

If you’re having someone else install it, call the different places that do the installing and ask what the estimated times are to complete the job. Pick the one that does it the fastest, if that is what you want most. But I would go with the look you like best. You have to live in it!

you can go to lowes or home depot to get ideas, and check prices. but usually a individually owned business will give you a better price and take more pride and give more heart to the job, because each job is their lively hood. find what you like then get several estimates, check in your local phone book for a local business. besides the more money you give to a local business the more money stays in your town. good luck. take care.

Home Depot, Lowe’s, or a custom builder in your area……….check out references and go see some of their work before you have them to the remodeling

get estimates at both stores. never put more than 10 % of the home value into kitchen remodeling. dont get in a rush.. good work takes time and patients.

Last time I did mine, I spent hours @ Home Depot, Expo & Lowe’s to get some ideas on the latest trend and prices. Then I shop at a discount flooring store, countertop place (if you use marble or stone, they are usually the same place) and Home Depot to get the sink/faucet. Then I hire a contractor to put everything in. It costs much less, saves time and put you in control.

Lowes…my experiences with Home Depot have not been good ( damaged appliances delivered, deliiveries weeks late, wrong orders, etc) Lowes has great prices and they will do installations

If you are more of the DIY person and know how to remodel those things, then rather then go to Home Depot, support your local lumber and specialty stores by shopping through them. They will give you advice and help you with all the right products. You may even be able to save a buck.
If you prefer to have someone else do it, then research contracters in your area, dont just pick any random old one.
Most local lumber companys have a listing of contracters that they know and trust. Not all contracters are “kosher” in a sense.
Working with a contracter or having someone else do the work may insure that your kitchen will not be out of commission for an extended period of time.

With the help of my bnl, we planned our own. We went to Lowe’s to purchase what we needed. I found them to be very helpful. We pretty much knew what we wanted. My bnl did all of the work. I would not take anything for my new kitchen. We were out of commission for about a month. NOW!! I’m sure Lowe’s will send a person out to measure your kitchen and do all of the work faster but I’m not sure what they charge. I found them to be extremely knowledgeable.
Good luck.

Honestly you could just go to Lowes of Home Depot. It doesn’t sound very good but we got our done and moved the next year and the price of our house went up because of the flooring they did.
